It's a duck!

Rylee came home from school with the weirdest thing today. It's a styrofoam cup with a hole punched in the bottom. There is a long string running throught the hole and it has a paperclip tied to one end. A pink feather is glued to the side of the cup.

I asked her what it is and she said, "it's a duck!". Um ok... I asked her again and asked her why and she repeated that it is in fact a duck and she doesn't know why. As she was walking

away she said, "the string makes a funny noise when you get it wet."

"a duck sound?" I asked her.

"nope" she said as she left earshot...

Bad mommy!

Ok, Reese LOVES coffee. I can't set down my coffee cup in the mornings or the little rascal will snatch it up and gulp it down. I have told her repeatedly that 2 year olds can't have coffee. She answers by smacking her lips and saying "Ah, thas goo coppee".

The other night, we were eating dinner at a restaurant and in a desperate effort to keep her bottom in her chair, I offered her a sip of my decaf coffee. It worked! She sat in her seat and sipped the coffee until the food came.

Now the question is... Will I be a horrible mommy if I just order her a decaf coffee next time we go out to eat? And... Is coffee included in the price of kids meals like Sprite, or do we have to pay extra?

Ben and Jerry's newest flavor?

Potty Training Reese is going much slower than I thought it would. She knows what to do, she just chooses not to do it. Imagine my surprise when she voluntarily pooped on the potty the other day. I was so excited that I told her we would all go out for ice cream as a treat. She ran to Danny and said "Daddy, I get poo poo i kweem!"

She was so excited that she told everyone about getting poo poo ice cream. Tonight, Ryan and Rylee were hatching a plan to get ice cream. Their strategy is to get Reese to poop on the potty. I can hear them whispering in the other room as I type this...

"hey Reese, do you want some poo poo ice cream?"
"yeah"
"ok, we need you to go poop on the potty ok?"
"kay"

We'll see if they are persuasive enough?!?!?

First day of school...

Ryan and Rylee started school yesterday. Rylee was excited. She had heard her teacher was really nice. She jumped in the car and said, "Mommy, my teacher is great! She hardly made us do anything at all!"

Ryan was a nervous wreck about school starting. She had heard that her teacher was very strict and mean. She got in the car and said, "Mommy, my teacher is really not that mean. She was just mean last year because she was pregnant and couldn't drink any coffee and she gets grumpy when she doesn't have her coffee!"

Confusing Reese

Tonight after dinner, Reese asked for some cereal. I said, "Sorry Charlie, you just ate dinner.". Reese gave me a weird look. Cocked her head to the side and said, "I not Chah-lee"

She cracks me up sometimes...

Rylee's weird quote of the day...

Rylee was trying to teach our new puppy Razz how to play fetch. When she finally got the dog to chase the ball she stood up, put her hands on her hips, looked at me and said, "Mommy, balls are dog's funtertaining spheres of love!"

Movies...

We were looking for a movie to watch on Video on Demand. Danny was scrolling through the titles and a picture from each movie would pop onto the screen . When he came to "Legends of the Fall", the photo was of the faces of the brothers and the dad in the movie. Danny looked at me and said " do you think Ryan would like this movie" (it's one of his favorites). I rolled my eyes because I personally think it's a kinda boring movie. Ryan, in her infinite wisdom said "no, that movie is too boring!". I got a big grin on my face and said, "Now how did you know that the movie is boring?". Her response? "All movies that just show the faces on the cover are boring, everybody knows that!"

My cool new iPhone

That's what my signature says. I had to add the word new because I am now on my second iPhone. I lost the first one and it was ruined by the time I found it. I enlisted the kids help to find it when it was lost. I assumed that one of them had gotten it and put it somewhere. Everytime I asked Reese where my phone was, she would go get her little pink Dora phone and bring it to me. The other night, she was laying next to me watching a movie and she looked over at me and said, "mommy, where's my Dora phone?". I told her that I didn't know and then she asked where my iPhone was. I told her that it was lost and she patted my should and said "poor baby".

That about summed up how I felt about going 2 weeks without a phone.
